WPPI Convention with GuruShots
I have been using a professional level DSLR camera for about 3 years now, and for about a year I have been submitting to the platform called GuruShots, where people from all over the world can submit their images in different and always challenging photo contests. Via this platform, since my very first international exhibition display in Thessaloniki, Greece, I had been selected for Digital Display many times, but never for print.
This all changed this year. I was finally selected for Print Display. The best part was that, besides finally making it to the coveted Print Display (only 40 images are selected between tens of thousands), this time the exhibit was going to be in a place that is only a few hours away from home.
I know this all already sounds like a fantastic opportunity and accomplishment, but there's more. The host hotel was none other than the same hotel at which my best friend, and wife of 16 years, stayed for our very first overnight trip as a couple, when we were just dating for a short time. Many of our family members thought we were going to get married in secret so I could get my residency in the US. We didn't.
So, here we are, being displayed in printed format for the very first time in my short professional photography career, at this very special hotel and casino in Las Vegas, NV.
