About Me
Hi, I’m Rodrigo Izquierdo—an award-winning fine art, portrait, wildlife, architectural, and live music photographer based in Southern California.
Through Reagle Photography, I create bold, story-driven images that turn everyday spaces and fleeting moments into art you can feel—whether that’s a museum-quality fine art print for your wall or a custom photo session designed around your vision. My work has been recognized by leading international photography competitions, including the Muse Photography Awards, London Photography Awards, Global Photography Awards, New York Photography Awards, and European Photography Awards among others.
In 2025, I was named the Global Photography Awards Architecture Category Winner of the Year—an honor that reflects my commitment to craft, creativity, and consistent excellence across genres. I’m also the author of four photography books available on Amazon, including How to Photograph Hummingbirds, How to Photograph Fire Performers, Exhibitionist (a coffee-table photobook following how my images have traveled the world), and Clownun: Birth (a one-of-a-kind photo comic book). More projects are in the works. My work and story have also been featured in SD Voyager Magazine and the Muse World interview series. My photography includes fine art and conceptual portraits, nature and wildlife, architecture, concert/live music photography and events. Clients and collectors can purchase museum-quality fine art prints and digital downloads, and I’m also available for custom commissions and portrait sessions in San Diego (and beyond).
If you’re looking for a San Diego photographer who can create expressive portraits, polished professional imagery, or fine-art photos with a distinctive style, I’d love to collaborate. Explore my portfolio, then book a photography session by contacting me here: Contact Me—share your idea, your location (studio, outdoor, or on-site), and the look you want, and I’ll help shape it into images you’ll be proud to share.
Based in San Diego and available for projects worldwide.
For rates, availability, and booking, use my Contact Me page—include your preferred dates, the type of session (portrait, fine art, architecture, live music, or wildlife), and any inspiration so I can reply with next steps.

FAQ
Who is the photographer behind Reagle Photography?
Reagle Photography is owned and operated by Rodrigo Izquierdo, an award-winning, self-taught professional photographer based in San Diego, California. After a 13-year corporate career in human resources—specifically in employee relations and accommodations management—Rodrigo transitioned his lifelong passion for photography into a full-time, profitable enterprise. Today, he runs the studio alongside his wife and partner, Dez, who assists with video production and business operations.
Has Rodrigo Izquierdo won any photography awards?
Yes. Rodrigo has received multiple international accolades since 2020. Most notably, he was named the Architecture Category Winner of the Year at the Global Photography Awards (MUSE recognition). He is also an active, standing member of both the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and the Photographic Society of America (PSA).
Where is Reagle Photography located?
Our primary studio operations are based in Santee, California, serving the greater San Diego area. However, we frequently travel for location shoots, events, and long-term documentary projects across the country.
What photography genres do you specialize in?
Reagle Photography offers a diverse range of high-end visual services, specializing in:
Portraiture & Commercial Headshots: Creating striking, professional imagery for individuals and brands.
Fine Art & Boudoir: Delivering tasteful, narrative-driven, and highly stylized imagery.
Live Music & Concerts: Capturing the energy of live performances across major venues.
Nature, Aviation, & Automotive: Documenting dynamic subjects, from vintage car restorations to centennial road trips.
Do you offer drone or aerial photography?
License Pending - Yes. Rodrigo holds a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 Unmanned Aircraft General certification, allowing Reagle Photography to legally and safely operate commercial drones—such as the DJI Avata 2—for stunning aerial perspectives.
What can I expect during a photoshoot?
We utilize a high-end production workflow designed around client collaboration. During shoots, we shoot tethered to an ASUS ProArt laptop, allowing clients to see real-time image previews on set. This ensures we capture the exact look and feel you want before the session wraps.
Do you use special effects in your photography?
Absolutely. Instead of relying solely on heavy digital manipulation in Photoshop, we prefer to capture magic in-camera. We utilize professional-grade practical effects equipment, including SmokeGENIE and SmokeNINJA theatrical fog systems, as well as specialized bubble effects, to create immersive, fine-art atmospheres on set.
How do you deliver your final images?
Alongside digital delivery, we specialize in physical, museum-quality printing. We produce our prints in-house using a Canon PixmaPro 310 printer and archival Hahnemühle paper to ensure your artwork lasts for generations.
What camera equipment does Reagle Photography use?
We shoot on top-tier professional Sony mirrorless systems, primarily the Sony a9III and a7RV. Our lens selection is tailored to the subject, utilizing the highly sought-after Sony 50-150mm f/2 for stunning portrait compression, and the Sony 200-600mm for distant nature and aviation subjects. We also incorporate DJI mobile video rigs and comprehensive Godox and Flashpoint outdoor lighting setups.
