Location Details

The Illinois State Fairgrounds Route 66 Experience is located at Gate 2, 801 E Sangamon Ave, Springfield, IL 62702, situated right at the corner of Route 66 and Sangamon Avenue. Managed by the Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway, this microform outdoor museum functions as a scaled-down walk-through version of the state's entire historic corridor. It spans all 92 Illinois communities that the Mother Road famously traveled from Chicago down to the Chain of Rocks Bridge in Madison.
